Have you been watching Kirstie’s Handmade Britain? (Channel 4 Wed eves) Spot the Mosaic Elephant, a soaring Eagle over a shimmering mosaic lake, fancy a cuppa from a pretty mosaic china teapot or did the bug house catch your eye….. see more of these in the sixth of the series(next week) when Kirstie visits our local show and find out what happens in our mosaic neck of the woods. The elephant is currently on show in the shop window and John is starting his next project this week! My workshop and shop showcase my mosaic work and we sell crafts materials and work in all stages – you can buy the raw materials/a kit/a feature decoration/a made item or you can commission a piece
Visit our new shop at Number 11, Station Road, Moretonhampstead Open 10 – 4 Mon to Sat -You can’t miss it, painted a lovely red on the outside with a fluttering flag – inside a warm welcome awaits you and a cornucopia of crafty ideas and materials. Lots of fluttering inside too as we get ready for Christmas. This week we have been knitting Christmas Trees – as you do – and developing some very crafty ideas.
We celebrated Hallowe’en with a bejewelled pumpkin in our window and some cheeky pom pom spiders, courtesy of Christine who unearthed her childhood pom pom maker. We challenged young Phillip to a polar bear and await the results. Adults and children both went home with creatures they had made and a smile.
Fireworks brought out some mosaics that we had exhibited once before - from a city skyline to concrete castings of rockets and a glittering roman candle.
Our window display changes weekly and this week we are concentrating on textiles as Patsy is in the shop this Saturday 11 – 4 making fabric fir trees and cones – Come and join her £7.50 including materials.
Gabrielle makes the most delicious pink, red and orange cake to match our surroundings!

Just to let you know that I have added your event starting on the 11th to my what’s on pages, and hope to get along for a bit of tuition. Here is the link :-

Best wishes Jill
Thank you Jill, look forward to seeing you again.
Good to meet you too Terri, we look forward to spinning and all things wild and woolly. The festival was a fab day and really showcased Moretonhampstead – the people that made it happen and all the great visitors that sampled our town. We look forward to seeing you again soon and creating some of that exciting yarn.
